In a city filled with vibrant holiday windows, Bath & Body Works went beyond visual spectacle to engage the sense of smell. The Scented Billboard in NYC introduced a first-of-its-kind holiday window display, combining dynamic digital visuals with real scents for an immersive, multi-sensory experience.
CREATIVE DIRECTION: TURNING PRODUCTS INTO MOMENTS
Part of the "Big Little Moments" campaign, the activation transformed a storefront into a digital billboard showcasing seven of Bath & Body Works' iconic products. Each scent was brought to life not only with visuals but with real aromas wafting onto the sidewalk, from Fresh Balsam to Cookie Butter Truffle.
We designed a custom system linking digital animations to scent diffusers and fans, perfectly synchronizing the visuals with the fragrances. Passersby were surprised and delighted as the scents and messaging adapted to the time of day, weather, and key holiday moments, creating a dynamic experience tailored to the city’s rhythm.

The scented billboard required precise engineering to integrate the scent-diffusion system with the digital display. This included carefully calibrated fans to project aromas onto the sidewalk while maintaining a clean, unobtrusive installation in the busy urban environment.
