Mind-blowing visuals, flawless transitions, and electrifying camera moves
Martin’s work is the perfect cocktail of striking cinematic vision, genius storytelling and brilliant casting.
Martin Raffier is a Paris-based filmmaker known for his visually bold, rhythmically charged work and for bringing unexpected comedy to life with pitch-perfect timing. A self-taught director and lifelong cinephile, he draws inspiration from the films of the ’80s and ’90s, fusing dynamic camera work, fluid transitions, and a meticulous eye for detail with narratives that are as sharp as they are entertaining. “Basically, I’m a nerd,” he says.
Martin’s work blends post-production wizardry with grounded storytelling, often starting from a highly conceptual vision and ending in something uniquely surreal, surprising, and full of personality. His award-winning short Dangerville earned both the Jury Prize for Fiction and Best Original Soundtrack at the Lyon Young Film Festival, and his 2023 music video Belle Chanson for Houdi—a trippy mix of live-action and 3D animation—pushed the boundaries of visual storytelling. Recent clients include Ikea, Netflix, Paris Saint-Germain, Amazon Music, McDonald’s, Spotify, Walk in Paris, and Schott NYC. If it’s clever, cinematic, and creatively unhinged, Martin’s probably behind it.
