Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour, Jr. is a Ghanaian-American writer and director, born and raised in Houston, TX. He began his career in Japan, where he developed a passion for telling authentic, sensitive, and human-centered stories.
Emmanuel made his feature debut by writing and directing Black Box for Blumhouse and Amazon as part of the Welcome to the Blumhouse collection. Following the film’s success, he has directed critically acclaimed television series such as Shogun, The Recruit, The Midnight Club, and Star Trek: Discovery. Additionally, he has directed commercials for brands including Mitsubishi, Phillips 66, and Tenaris.
His films have screened and won awards at international film festivals, including Toronto, Palm Springs, the NBC Short Film Festival, and the Pan African Film Festival. His commercial work has also earned him six Addy Awards.
